Privacy policy.

What personal data we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it under UK data protection law.

Last updated: August 2026

Who we are

DAZE Accounting Limited ("DAZE", "we", "us", "our") is a company registered in England and Wales, and an ACCA licensed firm.

We are the data controller for the personal information you give us. If you have any questions about how we handle your data, email support@dazeaccounting.com.

What we collect

Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:

  • Identity data: your name, business name and role.
  • Contact data: your email address and phone number.
  • Business and financial data: information about your business, accounts, tax position and financial circumstances, where we need it to do the work.
  • Communications: messages you send us through the contact form, the quote builder, or by email.
  • Marketing preferences: whether you have subscribed to our newsletter, and a record of that subscription.

We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

How we collect it

  • Directly from you: the contact form, the quote builder, the newsletter signup, a call, or becoming a client.
  • From third parties such as Companies House, HMRC and your previous accountant, where relevant to the work.

This website uses Google Analytics, but only if you accept the cookie banner. See our cookie policy for what that does and does not collect.

Why we use it

  • To do the work: accountancy, tax and advisory services under our engagement with you.
  • To talk to you: answering enquiries, sending quotes and engagement letters, and running the relationship.
  • To meet legal and regulatory duties: including anti-money laundering rules, HMRC requirements and ACCA professional standards.
  • To send you the newsletter, if you asked for it. You can unsubscribe from any email we send.

Our lawful basis

Under UK GDPR we rely on:

  • Contract: where processing is needed to deliver the services you have engaged us for.
  • Legal obligation: where the law or our professional body requires it, including AML and HMRC record keeping.
  • Legitimate interests: to respond to enquiries, follow up on a quote you requested, and keep our own business records.
  • Consent: for newsletter subscriptions. You can withdraw it at any time, and doing so does not affect anything we did beforehand.

Who we share it with

  • HMRC, Companies House and other regulators: where the law or our professional obligations require it.
  • Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract: our accounting software, email platform, proposal software, payment provider, website hosting, our booking tool, and, if you accepted the cookie banner, Google Analytics.
  • Other professional advisers such as solicitors or banks, where relevant to your affairs and with your knowledge.

We do not sell your personal data, and we never will.

How long we keep it

  • Client records: at least six years after the engagement ends, in line with HMRC and professional requirements.
  • Anti-money laundering identification records: five years after the business relationship ends.
  • Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it.
  • Enquiries and quotes from people who do not become clients: up to twelve months.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
  • Ask us to delete your data, in certain circumstances.
  • Ask us to restrict how we use it while a dispute is sorted out.
  • Receive your data in a portable format, where we rely on consent or contract.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests, including any direct marketing.
  • Withdraw consent where consent is what we are relying on.

To exercise any of these, email support@dazeaccounting.com. We will respond within one calendar month. Some rights are limited where we are legally required to keep records. We will explain if that applies.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Keeping it safe

This site is served over HTTPS. Access to client data is restricted to the people who need it, and our third-party processors are covered by data processing agreements.

No system is perfectly secure, but we take the protection of your information seriously and review how we handle it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
